Biography

Elizabeth Mason has been representing financial institutions, lenders, investors, mortgage servicers, title companies, and other real estate concerns since she was admitted to the New Mexico bar in 1984. She received a juris doctoris degree from Washington University School of Law the same year, attaining a class rank of 27/201. While in law school, Ms. Mason was a staff member of the Journal of Urban and Contemporary Law, a recipient of the Edna Fisse Scholarship, as well as a Thompson & Mitchell Research Fellow. Her undergraduate degree was completed at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1980, where she graduated with honors in Political Economy of Industrial Societies and with distinction in general scholarship. She is admitted to practice in all of the state and federal courts in the State of New Mexico.

Ms. Mason has practiced law for a broad range of clients in a variety of subject areas since her licensure; beginning in 1989, however, she has concentrated her practice in the area of residential mortgage foreclosures and related actions. The managing attorney for the New Mexico office of the LOGS network from 1989 through 1993, Ms. Mason established Elizabeth Mason, P.C., in 1994. She is a member of the New Mexico Bar Association, the American Legal and Financial Network, and the Mortgage Bankers Association. She has presented seminars on foreclosures and collections law and procedure, and is recognized by the members of the New Mexico bar as a “Foreclosure Queen” (surprisingly, however, this is not an official designation by the New Mexico Bar Association).
